Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course; is to give basic level theoretical and practical information about massage applications and evaluations in different situations and to develop problem-solving skills for these issues in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Course Content	This course covers the following topics: 'The mechanisms of effects of classic massage, techniques, dosage, cases whose are indicated or contraindicated', 'The correct positioning and regional applications (face, neck, back region, abdominal massage, thigh, leg, foot, arm-forearm and hand massage)', 'Deep friction massage and application', The history of and the effects of connective tissue manipulation(CTM)', 'Reflex regions of CTM', 'The reactions as a result of CTM', 'CTM applicable diseases', 'First assesments', 'Basic region manipulation', 'The lower thoracic-scapular-interscapular-cervical and occipital-arm-forearm-hand, thigh leg-foot, pelvic and abdominal, chest and face CTM application methods'.

The aim of the course

Course Content

Learning Outcomes

All graduates can assess and plan physiotherapy and rehabilitation protocols by using quantitative and qualitative principals and concepts in physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
All graduates apply physiotherapy and rehabilitation program by using further level knowledge and skills with in the order of systematically and safely ethic rules; finish or change treatment protocols if necessary
Creates protective / improving physiotherapy programs for healthy people
Gains the ability to use current apparatus and equipment safely in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and follows current developments in this field.
Can use computer, statistics, information and communication technologies as required by the field
All graduates have innovative behavior to protect public health; contribute to produce health politics for the changing and varying necessities on physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
Maintains personal development and lifelong learning; contributes quality improvement, educational and promotional programs related to the field; exhibits professional behavior at the international level.
Can use at least one foreign language in order to follow current treatment approaches and academic advances
Behave fairly and equitable to their patients and counterparts within the framework of ethical principles and professional responsibility
Communicates effectively with patients and the other disciplines at every stage of the study, ensures a coordinated execution of teamwork
Can make evidence-based scientific research and can follow developments in order to contribute the development of the physiotherapy profession.

Weekly Course Subjects

1	The history of massage, different massage techniques, objectives, implementation principles, effects, practical application of massage movements.
2	Discussion of massage dosage, lower and upper extremities practical application of massage.
3	Repetition of practical application, discussion of the indications and contraindications for massage.
4	Back, neck, abdomen and implementation of facial massage.
5	General practice again, sports massage and mechanical massage to compare the methods.
6	Connective tissue massage (KDM) 's discussion of the first assessment should be done prior to implementation and practical application.
7	Lumbosacral (Basic) of the lower thoracic and scapular region KDM practical application.
8	Interscapular, cervical, occipital bölgekdm practical application.
9	Midterm.
10	Discussion of reactions occurring again after KDM practice and general practice.
11	KDM upper and lower extremities in practical applications.
12	Pelvic, abdominal, chest and face KDM practical application and use in different diseases.
13	Discussion of current massage techniques.
14	General practice again.
