Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course; is to give basic level theoretical and practical information about massage applications and evaluations in different situations and to develop problem-solving skills for these issues in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Course Content This course covers the following topics: 'The mechanisms of effects of classic massage, techniques, dosage, cases whose are indicated or contraindicated', 'The correct positioning and regional applications (face, neck, back region, abdominal massage, thigh, leg, foot, arm-forearm and hand massage)', 'Deep friction massage and application', The history of and the effects of connective tissue manipulation(CTM)', 'Reflex regions of CTM', 'The reactions as a result of CTM', 'CTM applicable diseases', 'First assesments', 'Basic region manipulation', 'The lower thoracic-scapular-interscapular-cervical and occipital-arm-forearm-hand, thigh leg-foot, pelvic and abdominal, chest and face CTM application methods'.

Weekly Course Subjects

1The history of massage, different massage techniques, objectives, implementation principles, effects, practical application of massage movements.
2Discussion of massage dosage, lower and upper extremities practical application of massage.
3Repetition of practical application, discussion of the indications and contraindications for massage.
4Back, neck, abdomen and implementation of facial massage.
5General practice again, sports massage and mechanical massage to compare the methods.
6Connective tissue massage (KDM) 's discussion of the first assessment should be done prior to implementation and practical application.
7Lumbosacral (Basic) of the lower thoracic and scapular region KDM practical application.
8Interscapular, cervical, occipital bölgekdm practical application.
9Midterm.
10Discussion of reactions occurring again after KDM practice and general practice.
11KDM upper and lower extremities in practical applications.
12Pelvic, abdominal, chest and face KDM practical application and use in different diseases.
13Discussion of current massage techniques.
14General practice again.
