Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course is to actively use the devices and equipment used in opticianry.
Course Content Focal point determination and marking of multifocal and prismatic lenses with focometer. Ophthalmic prisms, prismatic effect, calculation of prism direction and amount, principles and areas of prism usage. Recognition of telescopic glasses. Mounting of single and multifocal lenses on frames of various materials. General information about contact lenses. Transpose operations and calculation of addition value, errors made in the software and application of eyeglass prescription. Low vision aids, special purpose frames, spectacle repair, templating and centering. Mounting of lenses in nylor and glazan spectacles. Reflections and coatings in lenses, prevention and benefits of reflection, absorption, polerizan lenses and fitting - Calculation of right amount and edge and center thickness of lenses, nominal and actual dioptric powers of lenses, effect of vertex distance on dioptric power of lenses, High diopter and lenticular lenses, aphak lenses, standards for spectacle lenses, relations of the spectacle store with official institutions and organizations and information about the opticianry law - Operation in spectacle stores, rules and ethics of the optician profession. Recognition of automatic glass shaving machines, store visits with eyeglass glass and frame manufacturers to see the functioning of these machines in store visits.

2Theoretical, Multifocal Lenses - Bifocal and trifocals Application, Measurement of Bifocal Lenses in fokometers, mounting to closed frame according to face measurements.
3Theoretical: Multifocal Lenses - Progressives Application: Measurement of Progressive Lenses on manual and digital fokometers, mounting on closed frame according to face measurements.
4Theory: Prismatic Lenses -Prism and Prismatic Effect - Desired Prismatic Effect and Providing the Desired Prismatic Effect with Decantration, Application: Measurement of progressive lenses in fokometers, mounting to the frame with fishing line according to face measurements.
5Theoretical: Providing the desired prismatic effect with prismatic lens, Application: Measurement of prismatic lenses in digital fokometers and mounting methods.
6Theoretical: Prismatic Lenses -Providing the desired prismatic effect with Fresnel Prism Application: Fresnel prism assembly methods.
