Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	Eye diseases, symptoms, developmental abnormalities, lid, lacrimal apparatus, conjunctiva, cornea, uvea, retina, optic nerve and orbital diseases, cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus, systemic diseases. Systemic absorption of topical administration to the eye and the visual effects of the drug.
Course Content	Examination methods in ophthalmology and refractive status of the eye, lid, conjunctiva and sclera diseases, glaucoma and optic nerve diseases, lenses and intraocular surgery, Vitreous, retinal and macular diseases, Laser in ophthalmology. History taking and symptoms of eye disease, developmental abnormalities of the lid, lacrimal apparatus, conjunctiva, uveitis, corneal disease, uvea, retina diseases, optic nerve and orbital disease, cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus, systemic diseases and eye. Course Content

Learning Outcomes

To follow the technological developments in the field of vocational and work practice,

To have knowledge about the basic visual devices as well as lenses, contact lenses and low vision devices,
Providing best choices and helping the user to select the most appropriate product (contact lenses, frames...), prepare them according to the prescription and provide the user's adaptation,
To be able to measure the ophthalmic lenses by lensmeter and spherometer and contact lenses and to make their settings for mounting,
To use the machines, devices and equipments about preparation of eyewear,
To have knowledge of basic optical instruments,
To have general knowledge of basic mathematics, chemistry, physics I, physics II and geometrical optics,
To have basic knowledge about eye, the anatomy of eye and vision health and eye diseases, to have basic knowledge about public health, human anatomy and physiology.
To use hospital automation systems, general and professional software programs,
Adopting the importance of lifelong learning and vocational training, courses, seminars, symposia, panel discussions and be able to be broadcast by following the self-conscious development,
Considering the health and safety measures related to the profession and making first aid in extraordinary situations,
