Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of the course is to teach students apply opticianry applications in laboratory such as recognize glass lenses, understand vision defects properties and transposes of different ways of writing, instalation of glass lenses onto frame, cutting glass lenses by diamond and after processing by handle instalation to closed frame, properties of glass lenses, understand measurement and types of glasses and make correct selection and settings in accordance to face, understand phocometer techniques and measurements. Glasses definition, history and application areas. Optician definition, duties and powers. The raw materials and properties used in the manufacture of eyeglass frames. Setting the eyeglasses in vertical and the horizontal axis balance and set in accordance to the human face.
Course Content Measurement of eyeglass frames, parts, based on the face selection. Dioptrik of lens powers, focus point and focus distances, the general classification of the lenses. Recognition of the mineral and organic lenses. The types of lenses, the lenses thermal, physical and chemical properties. Convex and concave lens characteristics, application areas, spherical (ball) and the types and characteristics of cylindrical lenses. According to the reaction defects usage of the lenses. The lenses markulin, drawing, trimming and cutting operations,introduction to phocometer and its usage, The detection of the dioptric power of the lenses, determination of the optical center.

1Theorical: Introduction to the course, course description, course need, importance, rules and requirements. Glasses definition, history and application areas. Optician definition, duties and competences. Laboratory: Introduction to the optician laboratory, the introduction of all devices.
2Theorical: The raw materials and properties used in the manufacture of eyeglass frames. The raw materials and properties used in the manufacture of eyeglass frames. The grouping and clasdsification of the eyeglass lenses.Laboratory: introduction to the manual and digital fochometr, its usage and Sph lens measurement.

4Theorical: The concept of the diopter glasses. Correction of refractive errors with glasses. Laboratory: measuring glasses in different diopters, axis, adjusting the optical center.

6Theorical: recognition of lenses by phochometr and spherometr Laboratory: phocometr Sph cyl lens measurement.

9Theorical: The properties, measurements and types of eyeglass frames. Laboratory: selection of frame based on face, recognition of frame.
10Theorical: Introduction to the hand tools used in setting of eyeglass frames and setting techniques. Laboratory: Use the screwdriver and pliers techniques (tweezers, screw holder, pliers, plaque removal, screwdriver set, attach nil hook, etc)...
11Theorical: Diamond, photocell hand stones, stones and general information about hand stones. Laboratory: diamond glass drawing, cutting, form straight edges by shaving.
12Theorical: Face measurement and measurements techniques required for instalation of eyeglass frames. Laboratory: Pd and Ph detection by manual method and digital pupilameter. Usage techniques in instalation measurements.
13Theorical: Face measurement and measurements techniques required for instalation of eyeglass frames. Laboratory: Settings and correct selection of eyeglass frames based on human face and instalation.
14Theorical: Information about automatic glass cutting machine, molded and non-molded machines. Laboratory: Glass cutting and drilling machines using templates for instalation.
