Faculty of Science and Literature

The Faculty of Science and Letters is one of the first faculties established at Istanbul Aydın University. Our faculty has been carrying out its educational activities since 2007. The deanship of our faculty has been held by Prof. Dr. Nevzat Hafis YANIK since 30.03.2026.

The mission objectives of the Faculty of Science and Letters are as follows:

1. To prepare its students for the future of Türkiye and the world in the best possible way through an experienced academic staff and rich library resources,

2. To act with an approach that closely follows contemporary global developments and continuously renews itself,

3. To provide strong and comprehensive field knowledge,

4. To offer opportunities and resources that support students’ cultural, social, and personal development,

5. To train individuals who do not merely use existing knowledge, but rather question, criticize, and ultimately produce new knowledge,

6. To provide graduates with opportunities for postgraduate education and academic career development.

Dear Students, our faculty, which consists of the Departments of Turkish Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Psychology, Sociology, Russian Translation and Interpreting, Arabic Translation and Interpreting, English Translation and Interpreting, Psychology (English), Molecular Biology and Genetics (English), and History, aims to educate graduates who do not merely use existing knowledge as it is, but who question, criticize, and consequently produce new knowledge, closely follow contemporary global developments, and continuously renew themselves.
