Purpose, Scope, Basis, and Definitions
Purpose
ARTICLE 1 – (1) The purpose of this Regulation is to regulate the procedures and principles related to the purpose, activities, management bodies, duties of management bodies, and working methods of the Social Research Application and Research Center of Istanbul Aydın University.
Scope
ARTICLE 2 – (1) This Regulation covers the provisions regarding the purpose, activities, management bodies, duties of management bodies, and working methods of the Social Research Application and Research Center of Istanbul Aydın University.
Basis
ARTICLE 3 – (1) This Regulation is prepared based on the 7th article, the (d) clause of the first paragraph of the 2547 Higher Education Law dated 4/11/1981, and the 14th article.
It is based on the second sub-clause of the (d) section of the first paragraph of Article 7 and Article 14 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 dated 4/11/1981.
Definitions
ARTICLE 4 – (1) In this Regulation, the following terms shall have the meanings described below:
a) President: The President of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Aydın University,
b) Center (IAU-TARMER): The Social Research Application and Research Center of Istanbul Aydın University,
c) Director: The Director of the Social Research Application and Research Center of Istanbul Aydın University,
ç) Board of Trustees: The Board of Trustees of Istanbul Aydın University,
d) Rector: The Rector of Istanbul Aydın University,
e) Senate: The Senate of Istanbul Aydın University,
f) University: Istanbul Aydın University,
g) Management Board: The Management Board of the Center.

The Purpose and Activities of the Center
Purpose of the Center
ARTICLE 5 – (1) The purpose of the Center is to conduct scientific studies on the cultural structure of the society, to determine the interactions between various cultures throughout history, to trace the roles of factors such as beliefs, religions, languages, and races within this formation, and to conduct academic research and studies that identify the effects of contemporary philosophical, ideological, scientific, technological, and similar trends on our society's culture, both internal and external. These studies are to be published and shared with society through seminars, symposiums, conferences, and other scientific and cultural activities, with the goal of spreading this knowledge and freedom of thought alongside universal values throughout the university.
Activities of the Center
ARTICLE 6 – (1) In order to achieve the purpose described in Article 5, the Center will undertake the following activities:
a) Create a website, library, and archive for the research topics supported by the Center.
b) Collect historical and current documents and works related to science, art, literature, folk culture (folklore), philosophy, and other relevant materials that contribute to the cultural structure of society.
c) Follow daily print and visual-verbal media.
d) Collect and archive articles, journal issues, visual records, and summaries related to the Center's studies that have documentary value.
