Industry 4.0 is a concept that emerged at the Hannover Messe industrial fair in Germany in 2011 and is the name given to the general paradigm shift caused by the increase in efficiency achieved by combining operational technology used in the manufacturing industry with information technology. It is referred to as Industry 4.0 as the fourth of the industrial revolutions.
Industry 4.0 generally refers to the decentralized production control approach where machines, conveyors and robots used in the manufacturing industry can make decisions and provide system control on their own through smart factories (Smart Factories). Here, the aim is to achieve digital transformation with Industry 4.0 by using many technologies and methods such as the Internet of Things (IoT), smart machines and robots that can be connected to the internet (cyber-physical systems), cloud computing, artificial and vertical integration, and 3D printers. Our Research Center aims to increase awareness and spread experience in our country regarding digital transformation in industry with Industry 4.0 applications.
