The purpose of the programme is to train eye care staff who can make every aspect of ophthalmic dispensing from basic terminology to frame selection to eyewear fitting, adjusting and repairing. Optician Program's mission is to give our students the knowledge and skills to the professional area, effectively to use information and to solve problems, that can query and creative qualities, team worker, self-renew, ethical values , entrepreneurs, to educate multicultural and multi-faceted individuals.

The main goals of Opticianry Program are to make our students gain profession knowledge and skills that our age requires; to train individuals who can use their knowledge efficiently in solving problems, can renew themselves, who are equipped with written and oral skills, who has ethical values, who are entrepreneurs, intellectual and sophisticated; to gain our country higher school gratuated, qualified health staff who supply optical equipments which are designed for fixing and removing visual impairments; to train technical staff who are conscious about Atatürk principles, have knowledge about Revolution History, who can use Turkish efficiently, who can use their physics and chemistry skills in the profession field, who can use English in intermediate level, who has opticianry knoeledge, who knows and apply the process of systems about opticianry, who can use opticianry packege programs, who knows eye and human anatomy, who can plan the process and the management of a business, who can know and use optical tools, who can choose and montage frame and glass due to data, who can do business programs and can calculate costs of the business, who can promote the production, who have the public health knowledge, who are entrepreneurs and who can renew themselves, who assimilates total quality philosophy and who can support related processes, who knows environmental, social and ethical problems about their profession and have responsibility about these problems, who pays attention to health and safety precuations about their profession.
