EMİNE BETÜL ŞAHİN
I graduated from the Department of Medical Imaging Techniques at Istanbul Aydın University in 2020-2021. During my two-year associate degree program, I completed my practical training in the On-Site Practice courses we took starting in the second semester, and my summer internship at our university's hospital, IAU VM Florya Medical Park Hospital. The opportunity to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge we acquired at our university through On-Site Practice courses not only strengthened my knowledge but also allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the industry and my field of study while still a student. It also significantly contributed to my social development. This further enhanced my love for my chosen field and boosted my motivation to work. It also helped them get to know me, so much so that I had a job ready when I graduated.
Thus, immediately upon graduating in 2021, I started working as a radiology technician in the Radiology Department at IAU VM Florya Medical Park Hospital, where I had completed my internship. I have been working at this institution for over a year and a half. Thanks to both the theoretical and practical training I received, I quickly adapted to the workforce. My love for my profession and dedication to my work quickly led me to gain experience in various imaging techniques within our hospital's Radiology Department, including both drug-assisted and drug-free Computed Tomography and CT Angiography, Mobile and Emergency X-ray, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, MRI Cardiac Imaging, and oncological diagnostic imaging, as well as specific and routine MRI imaging techniques. I also gained the ability to analyze and interpret specific imaging techniques, diagnosis, and the appropriate imaging techniques and patient profiles for specialized departments like the Organ Transplant and Stroke Center. I believe that the factors that determine our professional success are not only the quality of the university and the institution we study at but also our willingness to learn and our openness to innovation. In my professional life, I strive to maintain my knowledge and be open to innovation by collaborating with other departments, adhering to my professional and ethical responsibilities. At the same time, as a radiation worker, I strive to act with awareness of my rights, including my responsibilities regarding radiation protection. Believing in success is half the battle, and I'm confident I have much more to achieve.
