Aydın Film Workshop

"Aydın Film Workshop, operating within Istanbul Aydın University, is a collective that approaches cinema both as an intellectual platform for discussion and as a creative field of production. Based on this understanding, the workshop cultivates a dynamic environment that enables students to develop as individuals capable of interpreting, debating, and producing cinema in a qualified manner. Its activity program deepens cinematic culture through screenings of significant works from world and Turkish cinema, followed by post-screening discussions. Furthermore, creative gatherings organized with the participation of industry professionals facilitate both the transfer of experience related to production processes and the establishment of professional dialogue. Within this framework, Q&A sessions and masterclass programs offer students the opportunity to draw direct inspiration from leading figures in the field and to gain in-depth insight into creative processes.

On the side of creative production, students take an active role along a creative pipeline that extends from the idea stage to post-production through script development sessions and practical workshops focusing on filmmaking techniques and editing processes. This process not only equips students with technical skills but also encourages them to develop an original mode of expression regarding cinematic language. The workshop, coordinated by Dr. Lecturer Member Semih Ellialtı, is designed as a structure that interweaves theoretical engagement with practical production in cinema. It invites workshop students to become not only competent viewers or skilled technicians but also a new generation of filmmakers who create, think, and engage in critical discussion."
