Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Criticise, introduce, teach and compare and interpret the development of art in Europe and the Civilizations of the Mediterranean Environment in the historical process from Prehistory to the end of Impressionism.
Course Content Criticize, compare and interpret Civilisations, terminology, art developments since pre-historic age till the end of Impressionisme

1Civilizations of Mesopotamia (Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, Assyria) and Egypt (Ancient-Middle and New Kingdom Period)
2Paleolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze and Iron Age Civilizations in Anatolia (Çatalhöyük, Hacılar, Troy, Alişar Alacahöyük Hittite, Phrygian and Urartian Civilizations)
3Aegean Civilizations: Crete (Minos) and Mycenaean Civilizations, Architecture and examples of wall paintings. Greek Art, Orders in Greek Architecture, Parthenon Erechtheion, Ephesus Artemis, Silifke Zeus Temples, Theaters. Sculpture and Painting Art.
