<p>​</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Istanbul Aydın University (IAU), one of the biggest universities in Turkey, gave online seminar for teaching English in accordance with the cooperation agreement signed in 2018 with one of the biggest publishers in the world, Cambridge University Press (CUP).</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>FIVE SESSIONS SEMINAR: </strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;">Seminars were given to IAU English Preparatory School instructors between 30 September and 1 October in five sessions. The online seminars were given on the Zoom platform by one of the most important language instructors of Europe Ceri Jones, and CUP Turkey Higher Education Director Devrim Özdemir. Director of Professional Learning and Development Eric Baber from Cambridge University Press England central Office, and Director of Language Research Ben Knight carried out the frame of trainings.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>WHAT&#39;S IN THE PROGRAM? </strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;">Various workshops and practices about teaching English effectively were carried out and knowledges of instructors updated via the online and face to face training system, within the seminars. Also, audiovisual materials provided by CUP English Language Education Unit, various online practices, and materials prepared by IAU Preparatory School Material Development Unit are blended for encouraging students to attend the lessons actively, increase interaction in lessons, enrich the content of lessons, increase motivation of students, and studies and necessary plannings were carried out for students to learn English effectively. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>&quot;WE WILL REPORT INNOVATIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS&quot;</strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;">Director of Istanbul Aydın University English Preparatory School Program Dr. Necmiye Karataş said &quot;In parallel with developments during the pandemic, we have put forward all our possibilities at the optimum level in order to update our language education and to provide effective and efficient language education to our students in this process, and we planned new practices and actualized them. In this context, within the Effective Language Teaching Cooperation IAU made with Cambridge University Press in 2018, we have opportunity to relay innovations and developments in this field to our instructors. IAU English Preparatory School students will improve their English language learning ability effectively and efficiently with current developments and high techniques in language teaching field and expert teaching staff both in online and face to face education in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. In regards to those developments, with the aim of informing our students, we will have online orientation programs with our students next week.&quot;&#160;</p>
