Condemnation

  As T.C. Istanbul Aydın University, we do not accept and strongly condemn the statement that does not rely on a scientific and legal basis, findings, or archives regarding the 1915 events made by the President of the USA on April 24, 2021.

Istanbul Aydın University, we do not accept and strongly condemn the statement that does not rely on a scientific and legal basis, findings, or archives regarding the 1915 events made by the President of the USA on April 24, 2021.</span></p><div>While it is very clear that the events of 1915 do not meet any of the conditions and elements of the genocide defined in the &quot;Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide&quot; ratified by the United Nations, Biden&#39;s redundant and prejudiced statement is nothing more than the fulfillment of the promise made by the President of the USA to the Armenian lobbies before the election.</div><div>The states, especially the USA, trying to put Turkey under suspicion on this issue, always ignore the fact that &quot;while Turkey did not refrain from confronting its history with the proposal of establishing a Joint Historical Commission in 2005, the Armenian side never approached it&quot;.</div><div>In the glorious history of the Turkish Nation, there were no inhumane events such as genocide, massacre, colonialism, slave trade, racism, and it has continued its nearly 1000 years of existence in Anatolia with a culture of goodness, tolerance and living together. For this reason, Republic of Turkey, the Turkish Nation does not need to explain itself. This limitless statement made beyond the ocean also has no value in the eyes of the Turkish people.</div><div>It is also clear that such attempts to create animosity from history by distorting history will not yield any results other than making it difficult to establish peace and stability between the Turkish and Armenian peoples in our region.</div><div>As Istanbul Aydın University, we strongly condemn this statement aimed at putting the Turkish nation under a gross slander and we remind the American president of the inhuman right violations he has committed in Japan, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, starting with the Native Americans, and we invite all segments of society in solidarity and as one body to fully support all decisions that our state will take in this context.</div><div>Respectfully announced to the public.<br/><br/></div>
