Özgür KARLITEPE, Director of the Anti-Cyber ​​Crime Department: What do we do as SSMM? We operate on three main axes: investigation, investigation, prevention. Is there anything forensic as an investigation, we are examining it. The structure that looks after "something forensic" consists of thirty-nine districts and fifty-five branch offices within the body of the Istanbul Provincial Security Directorate. At the same time, there are regional laboratories in Tekirdağ, Kırklareli and Edirne. in these provinces. We also respond to technical support requests from the relevant branches, as well as from the courts and prosecutor's office, by examining all the transactions requested to be examined within the scope of KMK 134 (Anti-Smuggling Law, article 134) existing in our branches and districts, performing the necessary processes on them, doing the necessary. Currently, our branch has the same hardware and software as the FBI used by the American police. I can even say that we are better than them in terms of experience. That's how ambitious I am. First of all, we work on the issues that occur on social media. For example, determining the situations that occur on these platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and providing technical support to the relevant branches. As the Investigation Bureau, we also act as an operational branch. We are a comprehensive operational branch. We ensure that criminals are brought to justice, such as hacking crimes, crimes such as social network hacks, privacy of private life, credit card, debit card frauds, qualified fraudsters, call centers, copying activities, which we call the payment system, and crimes such as hacking. At the same time, we are working with an international organization regarding child sexual abuse. In addition, we also carry out studies on the issues of child sexual abuse in the international arena. At the same time, we carry out the necessary studies on virtual varicose crimes. We currently have two hundred and twenty assets; These are our experts in the field. We carry out both prevention, investigation and investigation activities with our experts in the field.

Prof. Şevket AYAZ: As you know, with the development of technology, especially in the fields of communication, informatics and transportation, global societies have been born, brought the world closer one by one and the world has become a global village. These developments, these advances, these technological advances have changed the structure of societies. It has changed the whole structure of the society such as economic, social, cultural, political, education and environment, and technology has continued to develop and our people have become almost indispensable to these tools. The use of these tools has provided several benefits. What are the main features of these tools? First, the flow of information in these vehicles is completely free. Secondly, the information flow in these vehicles can spread without knowing time and space. Events from all over the world can be watched live with one click. Third, all kinds of sounds, information and music can be copied thousands of times. These features make these tools attractive. So much so that people now move their fingers on the phone when they go somewhere. Of course, in addition to these benefits, there are also some personal and social harms that are increasing. People who sit for a long time in front of the phone or machine with poor posture may experience visual impairment, slippage in the spine, sleep disorders and unbalanced nutrition problems due to inactivity. At the same time, personal and social damages can be very large when the shared information is in the hands of malicious people.

 

Funda YALÇINKAYA: What were we doing before there was no social media? None of us needed this. This has become a necessity, even a higher level of it, has now reached the point of addiction. The interesting thing is that while we used to have problems with alcohol addicts and drug addiction, now we are full of mothers who say, "I can't get my child away from the computer". I'm going to talk about this a little bit today, but first of all, let me talk about how the addiction mechanism works. It is not correct to see addiction as a habit, a self-correcting condition. Addiction is when a person loses control over any substance, object or phenomenon and cannot continue his life without using it. Sometimes this can be linked to alcohol, sometimes it can be linked to Facebook. One of the most important things here is that being attached to any object restricts one's freedom. A person definitely needs an outside influence to realize himself. That means he actually stopped believing in his true potential. It is very important to lose one's self. I say this is the most important thing, because for us, one of the most important factors for our survival is to take control of our lives.
