Sociological Effects of Disasters "Unemployment and Mental Health"

Disasters can cause multi-layered problems on the communities in the region where they occur. These problems are known concretely in different layers, such as loss of life and injuries, damage to superstructure and infrastructure, complete cessation or interruption of basic services such as communication, education, health and security. However, disasters can also have abstract effects in a layered structure. The formation of these layers is caused by factors such as losing a loved one, living in the post-disaster environment, experiences of response teams, interruption of business continuity, exposure to negative content in the media. As AFAM, the webinar we held on October 12, 2021 focused on Unemployment and Mental Health, one of the intangible effects of disasters. Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bilici and Civil Engineer Cevdet Şentürk participated as speakers in the Webinar, AFAM Director Prof. Dr. It was moderated by Mehmet Fatih Altan. The webinar, which is held online via Zoom, is also broadcast on the youtube channel so that those who are interested in the subject who do not have the opportunity to attend can watch it later.
