The Republic of Turkey Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency declared 2021 as the Turkey Disaster Education Year. In this year, in which it is aimed to reach 51 million citizens in total with trainings, protocols are made with universities and studies are carried out to provide basic disaster awareness trainings to academic, administrative staff and students. As AFAM, we undertook the planning of the trainings to be held at Istanbul Aydın University by the trainers assigned by AFAD. In line with the plans we have made in this context, trainings were held for the Faculty of Engineering on December 13, 2021, and for the staff and students of the Vocational School of Health Sciences on December 23, 2021.
