Disaster Resilient Society Webinar

Turkey is intertwined with many risks that can turn into a disaster due to its geography. The earthquake that caused serious losses in Izmir in 2021, the fires that broke out in many parts of the country and caused the destruction of forest areas on a large scale, especially in the Mediterranean and Aegean Regions, or the Covid-19 Pandemic, which has had a global impact and has been seen in our country since March 2020. are clear examples of this situation. Combating disasters is an issue that concerns the entire society, even though there are institutions with legal responsibility in countries. Experiences gained from disasters throughout history show that otherwise, disasters result in more devastating effects. For this reason, as Istanbul Aydın University Disaster Training Application and Research Center, we held the Disaster Resistant Society webinar on August 20, 2021 in cooperation with the Yeşil Vatan Platform. In the webinar broadcast live on Instagram, information on the roles and responsibilities of central and local governments, private sector, non-governmental organizations, media, universities and individuals was shared.
