In our country, where a large part of its land is located in an earthquake zone, ın particular, the risk of earthquakes in economically and population important cities such as Istanbul is constantly being kept on the agenda of the public. Due to an earthquake that may occur in these cities, the public should be kept on constant alert against earthquakes. However, in our country, not only big cities but also many small settlements in rural areas have a significant earthquake risk. For this reason, as Istanbul Aydın University Disaster Training Application and Research Center (AFAM), we are conducting studies to increase the importance of earthquake preparedness studies to be carried out in rural areas. One of the works we have carried out within the scope of these studies is the webinar series.  The first of these webinar series BG Dost Construction General Manager Ali Güldaş and It was held under the title of Modern Design Rural Transformation on May 17, 2020, with the participation of AFAM director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Altan as a speaker. In the webinar, taking into account the regional structure characteristics of our country, it was evaluated how the earthquake resistant building designs could be with more modern designs and compatible with the region.
