We held the first of the National Workshop on Drownings and Pulling (Rip) Currents Workshop with Istanbul Aydın University (IAU) Disaster Training Application and Research Center (AFAM), Yıldız Technical University Natural Sciences Research Center and Bezmiâlem Vakıf University Disaster Management Department on June 21, 2018. We held the second workshop on 29 – 30 April 2019 in cooperation with the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Internal Affairs, Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency.

238 people from 119 different institutions attended the workshop, which was held nationally and lasted for 2 days. A total of 18 presentations were shared in 4 sessions under the titles of Flow Hydrodynamics, Drowning Cases, Medical Approaches in Drowning Cases and Institutional Competencies. In the workshop, desk studies were also carried out under the titles Awareness ad Training Activities, Determination of Standards and Competencies, Ensuring Corporate Cooperation, Activities that Local Governments can do, Media's Duties and Responsibilities, Legislation or Regulations.
