Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The objectives of the foundation engineering-1 course is to teach the students to analyze and design different types of foundations, to perform experiments on site and how the ground conditions can be improved.
Course Content Soil investigation, office and field works, drilling and sampling methods, field experiments, the superficial (footing, strip and raft) foundations and their designs, design of deep foundations and pile foundations under the influence of vertical loads, basic ground improvement methods.
