Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Definition of properties of construction materials, standards and regulations in concern with construction materials, damage types and damage values of materials under different conditions, explanation of imperfections based on physical and chemical properties of materials.
Course Content Natural stones, aggregates, binder materials; lime, cements and puzzolans, admixtures, factors affecting strength of concrete , properties of fresh concrete, mixture design, the production , placing, compaction and curing of fresh concrete, metal, alloys, steels, timber and ceramics.

4Laboratory Test-1: Investigate the properties of aggregate.

7Laboratory Test-2: Investigate the properties of cement.
8Midterm exam
9Concrete-Constituent Materials: Water and concrete admixtures.
