Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To examine the historical development of dance, to associate performing arts and dance with music, to combine movement concepts and skills with dance, to examine different types of dance and to create a unique dance composition.
Course Content Performing arts and dance definitions, historical development and classification of dance. Studying various step forms. Giving note and measurement information. Analysis of full note, half note and quarter note, definition of tempo, walks with tempo and study of various step forms. Walking by changing direction, movement exercises according to music, using various step forms, studying arm positions from basic dance positions. Studying arm positions with steps suitable for music. Study of arm fluctuations and brushing movements. Giving information about the selection of music suitable for dance. Studying galop, hopping and foal movements by taking place. Movements, stretching and application of these movements in various step forms. Jumping and jumping, teaching turns. Combining leaps and turns with intermediate steps. Studying the basic movements learned using connection movements. Various starting poses. Waltz stepping and space taking exercises using different directions. Studying different connection movements. Preparation of individual composition. Warming up with stepper, working of foot, arm positions in the bar, various starting and ending poses. Showing ground movements and arrangement. Different folk dance figures, waltz, tango, cha cha steps. Creating motion in 2s and 4s. Creating a composition with the group and working by correcting its deficiencies. Demonstration of various lineups and composition work as a group. Studying composition as a group with sample music.

Weekly Course Subjects

1Performing arts and dance definitions, historical development and classification of dance. Studying various step forms.
2Giving note and measurement information. Analysis of full note, half note and quarter note, definition of tempo, walks with tempo and study of various step forms.
3Walking by changing directions, movement exercises according to music, using various step forms, studying arm positions from basic dance positions.
4Studying arm positions with steps suitable for music. Study of arm fluctuations and brushing movements. Giving information about the selection of music suitable for dance.
5Studying galop, hopping and foal movements by taking place. Movements, stretching and application of these movements in various step forms.

9Mid- Term Exam

12Creating a composition with the group and working by correcting its deficiencies.
13Demonstration of various lineups and composition work as a group.
14Studying composition as a group with sample music.
