Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Handling the re-functioning project of a large-scale building within the framework of environmental data, technology, sustainability, disabled-friendly criteria and applicable laws and regulations, and providing the building with an interior architectural identity and artistic style.
Course Content Definition of different functions, determination of different requirements, interaction between the physical environment and humans, analysis of human-space-function relationship, creation of a functional and original spatial fiction including service areas and circulation system, detailed analysis of interior details, dressing and processing of all surfaces of the space , selecting original equipment and determining the lighting theme, expressing the design using contemporary graphic expression techniques.

Weekly Course Subjects

1ORIENTATION Announcement of the topic, Introduction of the project to be worked on, Explanation of the preparatory work. Making metaphor and architectural style choices.
2PREPARATION STUDIES Architectural Program including area calculations, Bubble Diagram, Adjacency Matrix, Zoning Diagrams and Semantic Differential Table and Color Palette, Concept Sheet
3SUBMISSION AND PRESENTATION OF PREPARATION WORKS Delivery and presentation of Architectural Program, Bubble Diagram, Adjacency Matrix, Zoning Diagrams, Semantic Differential Table, Color Palette and Concept Sheet. 1/200 Presentation of the furnished "Space Organization Study" of the entire building. Making a presentation about Metaphor and Architectural Style.
4CRITICISM OF PRELIMINARY PROJECT WORKS 1/200 "Space Organization Study" furnishing the entire building 1/200 two vertical sections (passing through stairs, doors and windows), Suggestions and presentation about the application of Metaphor and Architectural Style to projects. 1.Determining the selected area

13STUDENT DEFENSES BEFORE FINAL SUBMISSION Conducting student defenses by supporting projects with visual presentations and animations
14FINAL EXAM PERIOD DELIVERY (4F) DELIVERY OF FINAL PROJECTS ACCORDING TO DELIVERY STANDARDS. {All preparatory works, 1/200 furnished plans and sections of the entire building, all works related to the 1st and 2nd selected areas. It will be delivered in printed and digital formats (Autocad, Secetchup, Lumion, 3D Max, PPT, PDF, etc...)}
