Purpose and Content

The aim of the course teaches how to get knowledge concerning personality theories and how to develop an eclectic approach by internalizing the personality theories.
Course Content includes detailed and comparative information about theories of personality, the relations between personality theories and their historical periods.

1Personality and Theory (Psychology of Personality and definition of personality, sub-fields of psychology, Personality development, why there are different personality theories?)
2PSYCHODINAMIC THEORIES:Psychoanalytic Theory (S. FREUD) Basic concepts and principles of personality structure (topographic model, structural model), Personality Dynamics (Anxiety and Defense Mechanisms)
3Personality Development in Psychoanalytic Theory Reviews and ratings for Psychoanalytic Theory
4Individual Psychology (A. ADLER): Basic concepts and principles of individual psychology - Personality structure and personality development in individual psychology - inferiority and superiority complex - birth order - character typology.
5Analytical Psychology (CG JUNG): Basic concepts and principles of analitical psychology - personality structure - the collective unconscious and the archetypes - personality development of analytical theory.
6Neuroses and Human Development (K. Horney): Neurotic needs and trends - internal conflicts.
7Interpersonal Relations Theory (HS Sullivan): Basic concepts and principles of Interpersonal Relations Theory of HS Sullivan - Personality structure and personality development - Eight stages of man." according to E. H. ERIKSON.
8Escape from freedom (E. FROM) : Basic concepts of E. Fromm - Three basic mechanisms (Authoritarianism , Destructiveness, conformism) - Personality development and character typology
