Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	Acquainting the students with the basic information and skills on types and industry of medical translation.
Course Content	Delivering information on the text types in medical translation industry, doing translation practice with the relevant types of texts, delivering terminological information, review of the translation and industry related problems.

Learning Outcomes

The students become familiar with translation and interpreting.
The students learn the concept of translation or interpreting from past to present.
The students learn about methodological skills and acquire insights about language that help them in the future.
The students learn the different techniques and methods of translation.
The students also learn German as the third language and become familiar with the basics of translating from German into English.
The students develop critical and interpretive skills.
They learn about the culture and history of the English-speaking world.
They become familiar with the nuances of language.
They use logical thought, critical reasoning, and rhetorical skills to effectively construct arguments.
