The
Online Linguistic Support includes mandatory assessment of language
competences and the possibility to follow language courses. A language
assessment has to be undertaken both before and at the end of the
mobility period in order to monitor progress in language competences.
The results of the language assessment carried out by the participants
before their departure will not prevent them from taking part in the
mobility activity.
If you are leaving for an Erasmus+ mobility
activity, you will receive a login and a password to access the Online
Linguistic Support platform.
The EU Academy
The EU Academy is an EU-owned online center that provides first-hand expertise, high-quality training tools, and important insights for those whose job is relevant to the EU's area of operation. The goal is to make it easier for them to comprehend and successfully execute EU policy in a variety of disciplines. The EU Academy's objective is to create a modern and engaging learning environment that can develop and improve the quality of knowledge application on EU-related topics in a simple, smart, and motivating manner.
Within the EU Academy, the Online Language Support (OLS) program is meant to help Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps participants enhance their understanding of the language in which they will work, study, or volunteer abroad so that they may make the most of their experience.
Available languages
OLS is available in all official languages of the European Union: Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, English, Estonian, Spanish, Finnish, French, Irish, Croatian, Hungarian, Italian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Maltese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese , Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian and Swedish.
OLS will also be available in the official languages of the countries participating in the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs: Icelandic, Macedonian, Norwegian, Serbian and Turkish.
How it works
The language assessment offered by OLS allows participants in the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs to test their skills in the language in which they will study, work or volunteer before going abroad. They will also be able to benefit from personalized guidance to learn foreign languages.
The assessment in the language that is the subject of the mobility action is mandatory for students leaving for a period of at least 14 days (except for native speakers or in duly justified cases), in order to determine whether they have the language level recommended by the organization -host. The results of the assessment do not prevent them from participating in the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes.
Participants who wish to improve their language skills have the opportunity to take online courses before departure and during their stay abroad. Access to language courses includes a wide variety of interactive and personalized activities. Participants can take language courses in any of the available languages, with no limit to the number of languages and study units.
In some cases, if the primary language is not covered by the OLS, the sending or host organization will provide language support through other means. On their return, participants will be able to complete a final assessment, which will allow them to find out how much they have progressed during their stay abroad.
In order to check your language level, you can access the online language support website ;

How you can participate
If you have already been selected to go abroad with Erasmus+ or the European Solidarity Corps, your institution or organization will send you a username and password with which you will be able to access OLS.
