The students of this program;

Biochemistry and Microbiology laboratories were established on a 1200 m2 area and are divided into different sections.

Biochemistry Laboratory

  1. Sample acceptance and preparation
  2. Biochemistry Automation Laboratory
  3. Biochemistry Student Application and Research Laboratory

Microbiology Laboratory

  1. Sample acceptance
  2. Microbiology Student Application and Research Laboratory
  3. Molecular Biology Laboratory
  4. Virology Laboratory
  5. IFA Laboratory
  6. Culture Room
  7. Microorganism Identification Laboratory
  8. Medium Preparation
  9. Sterilization

Our laboratory has the infrastructure that is able to meet the needs of a hospital with a capacity of 300-400 beds; provide acceptance and report of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Microbiology tests from biological samples; apply a test panel in a wide spectrum; that follows changes and innovations in the profession to maximize service quality; is equipped with technical equipment at international standards.

Our students have the opportunity to practice in real laboratory environment with the samples from Health Application and Research Center by synthesizing their basic knowledge with advanced laboratory technologies besides following classical methods.

Skills Gained from Applied Education

To have enough knowledge about job security in laboratory, personal protective equipment, sterilization, disinfection, medical waste management

To know and use the materials (volumetric flask, glass pipet, pendant switch, precision scales, loop, petri dish) used in laboratory

To know the properties of anticoagulant and activators in the contents of blood collection tubes and to take samples according to the sample acceptance criteria and the needs of the test planned to perform

To have information about hospital automation system used in patient and sample acceptance and use at least one LIS system

To know the sample acceptance and rejection criteria during sample preparation phase, and to use devices such as Centrifuge, Vortex, Tube roller used in this field

To apply the tests of Microbiology / Biochemistry / Hematology / Serology / Immunology / Endocrinology / Andrologia / Electrophoresis / Coagulation / Toxicology and drug levels / Genetic Diagnosis, and to be able to work with auto-analyzers and manual devices; to know the technical features of the devices in which these tests are studied, and to produce solutions by maintaining, calibrating and checking them

To apply laboratory quality management systems, accreditation and validation conditions

To have adequate education on patient rights, privacy and employee rights
