Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To improve the ability to solve problems related to sizing ,strength and reliability in industry.
Course Content General principles of strength of materials; static and dynamic loading; external forces and support forces; stress and strain; axial loading; calculation of pressure vessels; statically indeterminate systems in axial loading; shear stresses; moments of inertia in Cartesian coordinates; shear and moment diagrams; bending stresses.

5Pressure vessels.
6Statically indeterminate systems in axial loading.
7Examples for statically determinate and indeterminate systems under axial loading.

9Shear stresses.
10Moments of inertia in Cartesian coordinates.
11Shear and moment diagrams (N,Q,M diagrams).
12Application of shear and moment diagrams, samples.
13Simple bending.
14Application of simple bending problems.
