Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To give enough knowledge to make air conditioning of an environment with desired conditions.
Course Content Air-conditioning requirements, dry air-water vapor mixture and its properties. Thermodynamic processes of humid air. Indoor and outdoor design conditions. Heat gains. Basis cooling load of refrigeration. Duct design. Air conditioning systems and automatic control.

Weekly Course Subjects

1Determination of air-conditioning requirements of the environments in different conditions.
2Expression of the characteristics of the air-water vapor mixtures.
3Thermodynamic processes and applications of humid air. Psychrometric diagram.
4Giving information about the determination of inner and outer ambient conditions.
5Investigation of the effect of heat losses and heat gains on air-conditioning load.
6Investigation of the main cooling load.
7Air-conditioning systems.
8Investigation of the main heating load.
9Midterm exam.
10Air-conditioning cycles.
11Combined heat and mass transfer.
12Cooling Towers.
13Heat and mass transfer on desiccant surfaces.
14Overall evaluation.
