Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To teach the civil engineering students the knowledge of fundamentals of geology. To apply this knowledge on the relevant fields of civil engineering.
Course Content Formation of earth, evolution, structure of natural materials, selection of linear engineering construction sites, formation and prevention of natural disasters such as earthquake-Flood-Landslide-avalanche, Bearing Capacity related experiments, observations and calculations, determination of rates of slope excavation, teaching water-discontinuity-Clay (SSI) trio which is one of the main problems in geotechnical engineering with current examples and calculations.

12Landslides and slope stability
