Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To teach the principles of earthquake resistant design and the principles of repairing and retrofitting, and to introduce earthquake codes.
Course Content Earthquakes: Characteristics of Ground Motions and Earthquake Parameters, Earthquake Design of Simple Structures, Determination and Application of Elastic and Design Spectras, Equivalent Static Method, Modal Spectral Design, Earthquake Codes, Design of Ductile Structures, Design Principles of Ductile RC, Steel and Precast Structures, The Other Methods of Earthquake Resistant Design, Earthquake Damages, Repairing and Retrofitting of Existing and Damaged Structures.
