Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Modern managerial and social sciences make the use of statistics necessary for decision making in a dynamic and changing social and economic environment, and this makes variation as the key concept in today’s world. The course objective is to make an introduction to statistics by focusing on the descriptive part; give idealistic notion of probability; and later introducing the inferential statistics as forecasting and estimation tool. The second part of the course is devoted to inferential methods of finding similarities and differences amongst given data. The module content and program of the course is subject to amendment due to preliminary knowledge of attendees to the course
Course Content Concepts of statistics; Frequency distributions & graphs of distributions; Location and dispersion measures; Probability and probability distribution types; Sampling distributions & confidence Intervals; Hypothesis testing; Similarity & difference analyses Non-parametric methods
