Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To learn the fundamental concepts and tools of illumination engineering. To learn the techniques of illumination in order to gain the capability of finding innovative solutions in engineering applications.
Course Content Subject, objective and types of illumination, Photometric Quantities (light flux, light intensity, luminous quantity, radiance, glare, photographic excitation, photometric radians), Photometric laws (Lambert's Cosine Law, Inverse Square Law, Law of Projection), Components of Illumination, Light and vision, Light sources, Calculation of illumination.

5Photometric quantities: Luminous intensity, glare, photographic excitation, photometric radians.
