Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this lesson is to introduce the concept of biyomedical instrumentation to students for physiological measurements.
Course Content Basic definitions of medical instrumentation, the principles of electrodes and transducers. Biopotential electrodes. Biopotentials amplifiers. Electrocardiography. The principles related to the physiological pressure measurement and phonocardiography. Measurement techniques of blood flow and the volume of blood flow. Other cardiovascular measurements. Therapeutic and prosthetic devices, defibrillators, pacemakers, heart-lung pumps. Instrumentation for measurement of brain functions, EEG and EMG measurements. Human respiratory system and its'measurements. Respiratory therapy equipment. Intensive and coronary care units. Operating room and electro-surgical systems.
