Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The main objective of the course is to provide a broad perspective of foreign trade by analyzing international trade policies, international financial environment, government intervention, regional economic integration, foreign trade strategies, and customs and foreign trade legislations.
Course Content The basic topics of the course are; patterns of foreign trade, international financial environment, international tax practices, trade policy in developing countries, government intervention, regional economic integration, customs and foreign trade regime, export documentation, incoterms, payment methods, countertrade, importing, global supply chain management, transportation modes, and foreign direct investment. The course follows the traditional format of lectures and classroom discussions, and students are also expected to do a significant amount of reading and research both before and after class.
