Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The objective of this course is to identify the values that Turkish family law is based on and to analyze Turkish family law in a detailed way while demonstrating how to solve legal issues in family law.
Course Content The course unit covers introduction to family law, engagement (provisions, termination and protection), marriage (conditions, impediment, provisions, termination), property regimes, property participation as a legal regime, kinship, adoption, guardianship and guardianship issues.

2Family courts and practical problems
3The engagement concept, the importance of engagement and its legal nature
4The establishment of engagement contract, provisions of engagement and termination of engagement
5The notion of marriage, the legal nature and conditions of marriage
6The characteristics of general provisions of marraige, provisions related to personal relationships of partners and rights and responsibilities of partners
7The representation of conjugal union and protection of conjugal union
8The provisions related to financial relationships of partners, concept and types of property regimes and regime for participation in acquired property
9The regime for the separation of property, regime for shared separation of property and community regime
10Conditions for and consequences of nullity of marriage
11The Notion of divorce, views and principles, causes of divorce and divorce and divorce suit
12Legal consequences of divorce
13Establishment of kinship and sources of kinship and provisions of kinship
14The notion, types of bodies of guardianship
