Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of the course is to present different point of views within the frame of fundamental sociological concepts and approaches for students to understand the world and the society they live in. In addition to that, auxiliary theoretical and practical information on occupational life will be examined within the content of culture and sociology interactions.
Course Content The content of the course includes basic concepts in sociology, history of sociology, research techniques and methods of sociology, the first sociologists, modern sociological thinking, sociology in Turkey and Turkish sociologists, culture and society, family and gender, political institutions and social groups.
