Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The goal of this course is to inform on the origins and historical development of Turkish theatre and equip the student with intellectual information that consists of Turkish theatre.
Course Content Turkish theatre from its beginning to the Time of Republic: Etymology, Village plays, the People’s Theatre, Karagöz, puppetry, Ortaoyunu, storytelling, the Tanzimat era, Turkish theatre under western influence, Turkish theatre in Meşrutiyet and reproduction plays.
