Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Teaching basic animation knowledge and skills to the students.
Course Content Giving the necessary technical information and applications in the cartoon basic education, starting with classical drawing methods and extending to the video animation production.

Weekly Course Subjects

1General introduction of cartoon & animation and providing information about its' history.
2Giving basic information about 'Synopsis' and 'Treatment' for animation.
3Giving information on scriptwriting with examples.
4To explain the definition of FPS (frame per second) and demonstrate the basic editing principles.
5Introducing the 12 Basic Principles of Animation
6Detailed examination of the 12 Basic Principles of Animation - Part I
7Detailed examination of the 12 Basic Principles of Animation - Part II
8Giving information about 'Midterm Project'.
9Midterm Project
10Teaching how to create a 'Storyboard'.
11Indtroduction of editing software.
12Giving basic information on how to use of sound, music and sound effects in animation.
