Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course is to provide fundemantal knowledge on Classical Turkish Literature at XVth century and to work on the significant works of the era.
Course Content	Turkish Literature at XVth century, the significant ruler poets, life and works of significant literary figures are introduced. Selected works are exlained by translating from manuscripts to modern writing.

Learning Outcomes

Explains the historical development of Turkish language and literature according to countries and ecoles.
Introduces "well-known personalities in the historical period and fields of Turkish literature" and their works from the first examples to the present.
Describes the relationship between language and literary theories and other disciplines.
Evaluates the works of Turkish language and literature in various periods and fields in terms of Turkish cultural history.
Evaluates the fields and ecoles of the field within its historical depth and geographical width.
Follows bibliography of studies on Turkish language and literature in written, printed and virtual platforms.
Defines and interprets a work or process related to the field and solves the encountered problems with contemporary methods.
Examines the works related to the field according to comparative language and literature methods.
Uses the theoretical and practical savings of the field of Turkish language and literature in the research and analysis process.
Identifies and defines problems related to the field of Turkish language and literature and offers solutions to them.
Explain the universal and social effects and legal consequences of field execution.
Reads, transcribes, translates to Turkish and examines the written texts of the historical and contemporary dialects of the Turkish language, written in different alphabets.
Analyzes the oral-written, verse and prose texts of the Turkish language and literature in terms of language science methods and literary theories.
Selects and applies analysis and modeling methods suitable for problems relevant to the field of Turkish language and literature.
It effectively uses information technologies together with modern tools in field applications.
Designs a research on the chosen subject, collects the necessary data and analyzes the results.
Archives the data of the prepared project and the conducted research.
Individually, conducts research, applications and projects related to the field.
Students take responsibility as team members in research, application and project related to their field.
Students evaluate the knowledge and skills they gained in the field with a critical approach.

2	Ruler poets of XVth century.
3	Divan poets of era: Life and works of Şeyhî (d. 1431). Study on selected works.
4	Life and works of (d.1496-97). Study on selected works.
5	Life and works of Necatî (d.1509 ). Study on selected works.
6	Woman poets of XVth century; Zeynep Hatun (d.1474) and Mihrî Hatun (1460-1506). Study on selected works.
7	Mathnawi Literature at XV.th century; Life and works of Hamdullah Hamdî (1449-1503). Study on verses chosen from Yusuf and Zeliha.
8	Life and works of Tâcizade Cafer Çelebi(d.1515). Study on verses chosen from Hevesnâme.
9	Religious Literature; Life and works of Süleyman Çelebi (d.1422). Study on verses chosen from Mevlid.
10	Prose at XVth century; Life and works of Sinan Paşa (1440?-1486). Study on verses chosen from Tazarrunâme.
11	Life and works of Mercimek Ahmed (XVth century). Study on verses chosen from Kaabusnâme.
12	Other literary figures at XVth century; Ahmed Dâî (XVth century), Mesihî (1470-1512).
13	A short focus on history writing at XVth century, Âşıkpaşazâde (1481?) and Tevârih-I Âl-i Osman.
