Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	Life of poets, their works and their literary significance between the beginning of the Classical Turkish Literature to XVth century are studied.
Course Content	The properties of Turkish Literature in the beginning of Islamic era and the early works. Significant figures of Classical Turkish Literature between XIIIth and XIVth centuries and their works.

Learning Outcomes

Explains the historical development of Turkish language and literature according to countries and ecoles.
Introduces "well-known personalities in the historical period and fields of Turkish literature" and their works from the first examples to the present.
Describes the relationship between language and literary theories and other disciplines.
Evaluates the works of Turkish language and literature in various periods and fields in terms of Turkish cultural history.
Evaluates the fields and ecoles of the field within its historical depth and geographical width.
Follows bibliography of studies on Turkish language and literature in written, printed and virtual platforms.
Defines and interprets a work or process related to the field and solves the encountered problems with contemporary methods.
Examines the works related to the field according to comparative language and literature methods.
Uses the theoretical and practical savings of the field of Turkish language and literature in the research and analysis process.
Identifies and defines problems related to the field of Turkish language and literature and offers solutions to them.
Explain the universal and social effects and legal consequences of field execution.
Reads, transcribes, translates to Turkish and examines the written texts of the historical and contemporary dialects of the Turkish language, written in different alphabets.
Analyzes the oral-written, verse and prose texts of the Turkish language and literature in terms of language science methods and literary theories.
Selects and applies analysis and modeling methods suitable for problems relevant to the field of Turkish language and literature.
It effectively uses information technologies together with modern tools in field applications.
Designs a research on the chosen subject, collects the necessary data and analyzes the results.
Archives the data of the prepared project and the conducted research.
Individually, conducts research, applications and projects related to the field.
Students take responsibility as team members in research, application and project related to their field.

1	General view of Turkish civilization and its literature between XIth and XIIth centuries.
2	The early works of Islamic Turkish Literature and their properties.
3	General information on Turkish civilization and literature on XIIIth century. The life and works of Hoca Dehhanî (XIIIth century) hayatı, eserleri ve edebî şahsiyeti. Commentary of one of his gazels.
4	The life and works of Sultan Veled (d.1312) and Ahmed Fakih (1230)
5	General information on Turkish civilization and literature on XIVth century.
6	The life and works of Gülşehri (XIVth century).
7	The life and works of Âşık Paşa (d. 1332).
8	The life and works of Mes’ud b. Ahmed (XIVth century). Introduction of Süheyl ü Nevbahar Mathnawi and commentary.
9	The life and works of Kadı Burhaneddin (1345-1398). Gazel and tuyug samples from his divan.
10	The life and works of Nesimî (d.1418). Gazel and tuyug samples from his divan.
11	The life and works of Ahmedî (1334-1412). Gazel and tuyug samples from his divan.
12	Explanation of selected verses from İskendername and Cemşid ü Hurşid Mathnawis of Ahmedî.
13	The life and works of Kul Mes’ud’un (XIVth century). Commentary on selected verses from Kelile and Dimne.
14	General roundup.
