Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course is to examine the poets of Turkish Classical Literature who lived at XVIIth century in the social and historical context of the era.
Course Content	The significant literary figures of Turkish Classical Literature at XVIIth century, selected manuscript and printed works are the contents of the course.

Learning Outcomes

Explains the historical development of Turkish language and literature according to countries and ecoles.
Introduces "well-known personalities in the historical period and fields of Turkish literature" and their works from the first examples to the present.
Describes the relationship between language and literary theories and other disciplines.
Evaluates the works of Turkish language and literature in various periods and fields in terms of Turkish cultural history.
Evaluates the fields and ecoles of the field within its historical depth and geographical width.
Follows bibliography of studies on Turkish language and literature in written, printed and virtual platforms.
Defines and interprets a work or process related to the field and solves the encountered problems with contemporary methods.
Examines the works related to the field according to comparative language and literature methods.
Uses the theoretical and practical savings of the field of Turkish language and literature in the research and analysis process.
Identifies and defines problems related to the field of Turkish language and literature and offers solutions to them.
Explain the universal and social effects and legal consequences of field execution.
Reads, transcribes, translates to Turkish and examines the written texts of the historical and contemporary dialects of the Turkish language, written in different alphabets.
Analyzes the oral-written, verse and prose texts of the Turkish language and literature in terms of language science methods and literary theories.
Selects and applies analysis and modeling methods suitable for problems relevant to the field of Turkish language and literature.
It effectively uses information technologies together with modern tools in field applications.
Designs a research on the chosen subject, collects the necessary data and analyzes the results.
Archives the data of the prepared project and the conducted research.
Individually, conducts research, applications and projects related to the field.

3	Life and works of Azmizâde Hâletî (d.1631). Study on his selected works.
4	Life and works of Nef’î (1572?-1635). Study on his selected works.
5	Life and works of Şeyhülislâm Yahya (1561-1644). Study on his selected gazels.
6	Life and works of Nâlilî-i Kadîm (d.1666). Study on his selected gazels.
7	Life and works of Neşâtî (d.1674). Study on his selected works.
8	Life and works of Nâbî (1642?-1712). Study on his selected Turkish gazels and selected verses from Hayrâbâd.
9	Mathnawi Literature; Life and works of Nev’izâde Atâî (1583-1635?). Study on his selected works.
10	Prose at XVIIth century. Life and works of Nergisî (1635) and Veysî (1561-1627); Study on their selected works.
11	Life and works of Kâtip Çelebi (1609-1658). Study on his selected works.
12	Life and works of Evliya Çelebi (d.1682). Study on the text selected from Evliyâ Çelebi Seyahatnâmesi.
